Built in 1790, Crossed Keys Inn is a charming updated country farmhouse on 12 beautifully landscaped acres with pond and stream. Decorated with beautiful antique and reproduction furniture, oriental rugs, 18th century style, Crossed Keys Inn is quintessential country elegance.

Crossed Keys Inn's location -- in a major antiquing area, close to Pennsylvania skiing, and only 20 minutes from Delaware water gap -- is ideal. Go canoeing, rafting, and hiking, or visit Waterloo Village, a historic village that holds concerts, shows, and many other events from wine festivals to poetry readings. (Click here to visit Waterloo Village's website -- then simply close your browser window. Crossed Keys Inn should still be open.)

There are five romantic fireplaces, two in bedrooms. An artist's studio on the property decorated with antiques, books, a pool table and shuffleboard. A separate stone cottage 500 feet from the main house boasts a romantic jacuzzi for two. Entirely done in English country style, this is our honeymoon suite.

There are several rooms in which people like to read: the living room, the library/den, the sun porch and of course the deck overlooking the property. Many guest choose to relax in the garden area by the stone cottage or on a bench under a tree.

Breakfast is served country style with homemade breads, pastries, gourmet entrees, fresh local fruits and dairy products.

From Newark Airport:

78 West to 24 West to 287 North to 80 West. Follow below (Be sure to stay to left at 78 West signs. There may be construction with a barrier) From Northern New Jersey and New York Area: Take Route 80 West to Exit 19, turn right and continue on 517. At blinking light turn left onto Route 603. Go through tunnel, and bear right. You will see a pond on right, and then immediately on left you will see Crossed Keys Inn enter sign and a beige picket fence.

From South Jersey or Princeton Area:

Take 287 North to 206 North and follow directions above (Route 80), or continue on 206 through Byram and Andover. After you have passed he sign for Perona Farms, go through tunnel. Immediately make a left at 606. Continue straight. Make a left at 603. We are right after Cahill Farm.

From Sparta:

517 South to Route 206. Turn left at light. You will see a road on the right that says Brighton Avenue. Turn right (Tranquility/Hackettstown). Go a short distance, and you will arrive at another light. Turn right onto 606, and continue another mile or so. Turn left at the intersection of 603. We are right after Cahill Farm (beige picket fence -- Crossed Keys on mailbox).
